Compound eyes as the photoperiodic receptors in the bean bug

Summary

The location of photoreceptors for the photoperiodic termination of adult diapause inRiptortus clavatus was examined by applying phosphorescent paint on selected regions. The results showed that the compound eyes are the principal photoperiodic receptors.
