Summary
The molluscicide N-trityl morpholine (‘Frescon’) has an unusual effect on the central nervous system of a freshwater snail. Nerve impulses become grouped into spontaneous ‘bursts’, with many cells firing synchronously. This may result from interference with inhibitory processes.
