Summary
The levels of ammonia assimilatory enzymes have been studied in a nif−III mutant and a wild strain ofAzotobacter chroococcum grown in media containing different nitrogen sources. It is suggested that the nif−III mutant may be defective in transport or incorporation of molybdenum.
