Summary
Tobacco black root rot, caused byThielaviopsis basicola (Berk. etBr.) Ferraris has been reported for the first time in the Netherlands. It occurred in tobacco seed beds in the Maas and Waal district, especially in the variety Kentucky Italiana.
A part of the literature on this subject is briefly discussed and methods for control are given.
