Summary

The rheological model of cement stone is obtained from a set of static experiments. It is shown that it includes aKelvin-body. From an analysis of its rheological equation it follows that the criterion of fracture of aKelvin- body is one ofstrain. The fracturestress of such a body is, therefore, time-dependent, a property named static fatigue. It is suggested that every real solid is sensitive to static fatigue, the amount depending on the retardation time.
