Abstract

The jay has increased markedly in Middle Europe. He causes considerable damages to seeds and fruits in forests, parks and gardens. In addition he kills many singing birds. As he is very cautions it is difficult to shoot him. But there is a possibility to dupe this bird by using a tape reproducing the emergency cries of the species. This cries attract the jays of the environs and the hunter in his hinding-place can kill them by shot.
