Summary

The annual hybrid strainMicroseris B87 (M. pygmaea x M. bigelovii) produces 2 kinds of fruit (achenes) on its flowering heads, outer hairy and inner smooth ones. 2 unlinked genes are identified that determine the relative number of hairy achenes, on a logarithmic scale.
