Traffic delays at a computer-controlled intersection

Zeitschrift für Operations Research Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

This paper considers an intersection of one-way streets withPoisson arrival and general departure processes. The traffic light stays green in one direction until the queue in this arm has vanished. The transient behavior of queue lengths at switching points and the steady state distributions of the delays are given.
