Age-related perseveration of the precopulatory behaviour in maleDrosophila melanogaster

Summary

In response to an interruption of their courtship, males ofD. melanogaster exhibit a lasting sexual arousal (up to 30–60 min), expressed behaviourally by characteristic wing displays. A study of this effect centered on two ‘memory mutants’ of different ages suggests that it can be related to an ageing-dependent perseveration, rather than to modifications in memory processing.
