Abstract (on parts 1 and 2)
A view is given on Anobiid and Ptinid beetles as pests of dwelling-houses at Hamburg in the years 1950 to 1974. The most common areAnobium punctatum (DeGeer), following byPtinus tectus Boieldieu,Stegobium paniceum (Linné), andNiptus hololeucus (Faldermann). Others are more rare.Lasioderma serricorne (Fabricius),Trigonogenius globulus Solier, and still moreGibbium psylloides (Czenpinski) need higher temperature for mass breeding as in dwelling-house commonly.Ptinus fur Linné is perhaps rarer than formerly.Sphaericus gibbioides Boieldieu is found in dwelling-houses of Hamburg, Lübeck, and Kiel in the last years only. The origin of these pests is discussed. Occurrence of fragments ofN. hololeucus in Roman tomb at Mainz is reported also.
