Summary

After a single injection of salmon calcitonin (2 MRC units/kg b.wt) marked decreases in both calcium and neutral amino acids in rat serum were observed. In turn, free tryptophan in serum and serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine) in the whole brain were greatly enhanced during the initial period.
