Application of the analysis of covariance to control input-output systems characterized by causal data bases

Summary

The analogy between causal data bases and multifactor structures with multiple covariates is used to compute linear relationships between the input and the output. Among all relationships defined, the simplest possible relation is selected by statistical significance testing, and used to optimise stochastically an objective function. The methodology is illustrated by a numerical example.

Zusammenfassung

Wir benützen die Analogie zwischen kausalen Datengrundlagen und Mehrwegklassifikationen mit mehreren Einflußgrößen, um lineare Beziehungen zwischen Input und Output zu berechnen. Von allen möglichen Beziehungen wird die einfachste auf Grund statistischer Tests ausgesucht. Mit ihrer Hilfe wird eine objektiv festgelegte Funktion optimiert. Die Methode wird an einem praktischen Beispiel illustriert.
