Summary
A brief immersion of chick eggs in a DDT aqueous solution, before the incubation, provokes a strong reduction of the number of germ cells in the gonads, when the embryos are 6 days old. Some hypertrophied gonocytes are pycnotic. Hypotheses are proposed in order to explain the mechanism of DDT action.
