Sono state studiate le ossidazioni del ciclo di Krebs e la fosforilazione ossidativa delle ghiandole sottomandibolari di topi di ambo i sessi. Le femmine hanno una capacità ossidativa più elevata, mentre non si sono riscontrate differenze relative al rapporto ADP: O.
