Bei Ratten, die während 4 Monaten ad libitum 40% igen Zuckerrohrschnaps getrunken hatten, wurden tiefgreifende Degenerationserscheinungen des adrenergischen Nervenplexus der Atrioventrikularklappen festgestellt.
