The prone position in Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. A simple adjuvant to treatment

Summary

The prone position is a simple and safe way to improve oxygenation in many ARDS patients; it may allow a reduction in FIO2 and PEEP and thereby reduce the risks of oxygen toxicity and barotrauma.
