Abstract

Observations were made on a conspicuous occurrence ofCheilosia morio larvae in resin lumps on the bark of spruces in South Tyrol, Italy. The larvae proved to be the causes of the resin production by the trees. A view is given on the knowledges of this pest which is less known hitherto.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird von einem auffälligen Vorkommen der SchwebfliegeCheilosia morio Zett. in Harzausflüssen der Rinde von Fichten in Südtirol berichtet. Es zeigte sich, daß die Larven durch ihre Fraßtätigkeit im Kambium den Harzfluß verursachten. Eine Übersicht der Kenntnisse über die noch wenig bekannte und beachtete schädliche Syrphidenart wird gegeben.
