Superdeformation in194Pb

Abstract

A superdeformed band was observed in194Pb in a spectroscopic investigation with the OSIRIS array. The dynamic moment of inertiaJ(2) is very similar to the ones observed for superdeformed bands in192Hg and194Hg. This suggests that the high-N intruder configuration π64ν74 determines the properties of the superdeformed core also in194Pb.
