Observations on bark beetles (Col., Scolytidae) in twigs ofPinus cembra in South Tyrol

Abstract

In dead twigs ofPinus cembra taken from two localities above 2000 m in South Tyrol in 1984Pityogenes bistridentatus, three species ofPityophthorus (henscheli, knoteki, pityographus) and one species ofIps (amitinus) were found. Informations are given on taxonomy, host preference and bionomy of these bark beetles.

Zusammenfassung

Im Juli 1984 wurden in Südtirol an 2 Stellen oberhalb 2000 m frisch abgestorbene Zweige der Zirbe auf Borkenkäfer untersucht. Sie waren vonPityogenes bistridentatus, 3 Pityophthorus-Arten (henscheli, knoteki, pityographus) sowie vonIps amitinus befallen. Es wird über den systematischen Status, die Befallspräferenz und die Biologie dieser Borkenkäfer berichtet.
