Der Inhalt dieser kleinen Mitteilung und einige damit im Zusammenhang stehende Probleme waren am 23. 8. 1952 Gegenstand meines Vortrages auf dem 8. Internationalen Kongreß für theoretische und angewandte Mechanik in Istanbul. Dem Sektionsleiter, Herrn Prof. A.Walther (Darmstadt), verdanke ich aus einer Diskussionsbemerkung den Hinweis auf H.Kneser [J.-Ber. Deutsch. Math. Verein.42, 27–32 (1932)], der für dieCotessche Formel eine analoge Untersuchung anstellte.
