Summary
Primary cultures of isolated myocardial cells of the chicken embryo (Ch) and of the new-born rat (R) present a characteristic behaviour of an increase of protein synthesis and glucose uptake: while in the Ch the increase of protein synthesis exceeds, in the R a high glucose uptake is shown. Both processes could be influenced by insulin.
