A theorem on potential of isotropic symmetric second-order tensor function

Abstract

In this paper we propose and prove the following theorem: If the second-order tensorH is an isotropic function of a symmetric second-order tensorT, and there exists a potential function forH, then there will certainly exist a potential function forT, too.
