La capacitad de reacción de la insulina de bovino con un anticuerpo especifico desaparece completamente cuando, previamente, se incuba la muestra en presencia de Cisteina. Concentraciones de iodoacetato hasta 1 · 10−2M no son capaces de proteger a la hormona contra la acción inactivadora del aminoacido.
