Gastric deformity following cardiac surgery
An extraperitoneal collection of chilled irrigation fluid used for hypothermic cardioplegia caused marked deformity of the stomach. It was demonstrated by upper gastrointestinal study performed 2 weeks after a coronary aortic bypass operation. The mass was drained following ultrasonic demonstration of its superficial location and fluid content.
