Elutionschromatographische Untersuchung der Stabilität freier und gebundener Aminosäuren in menschlichem Vollblut und Serum

Summary

After being stored under various conditions, samples of free and bounded serum amino acids were quantitatively analysed by means of ion-exchange chromatography. Samples which had been centrifuged, deproteinized, and stored at +4° C for hours, or at −15° C for months were found to still give reliable results. Under other conditions results were not reliable, especially after hemolysis, or after whole blood was shaken for 4 hours at 10° C. After 72 hours at 20° C, changes were also found in deproteinized serum. The special behaviour of some amino acids were demonstrated. Differences in reaction patterns of amino acids in different individuals are briefly discussed.
