Surface-modified polymeric nanogranules containing entrapped enzymes: A novel biocatalyst for use in organic media

  • Published:
Biotechnology Techniques

Summary

A novel biocatalytic system for use in organic solvents, based on enzymes entrapped into surface-modified polymeric nanogranules, is suggested. Nanogranulated biocatalysts are soluble in organic solvents of different polarity, possess high stability and catalytic activity, and can be used continuously in membrane reactors.
