Die in situ am lebenden Kaninchen untersuchten Gehirngefäße können sich nach Adrenalininjektion tatsächlich verengern. Die Ausflußmenge des Blutes aus dem Gehirnvenensinus vermindert sich mit der Steigerung des Circulusdruckes ganz auffallend. Man kann den ganzen Verlauf dieser Wirkung bei intravenöser Injektion nur dann verfolgen, wenn der allgemeine arterielle Blutdruck trotz der Giftwirkung stets unverändert erhalten wird.

Wenn man aber den allgemeinen arteriellen Blutdruck bei intravenöser Injektion ungehindert steigen läßt, so tritt ausnahmslos ein ganz anderes Verhalten in Erscheinung. Die Ausflußmenge des Blutes aus dem Sinus nimmt mit der allgemeinen arteriellen Blutdrucksteigerung bedeutend zu, trotz der schließlich eintretenden positiven Schwankung des Verhältnisses zwischen Circulus- und Carotisdruck. Dies kann, wohlberechtigterweise, wie es manche Forscher getan haben, durch Annahme der erweiternden Wirkung des gesteigerten allgemeinen arteriellen Blutdruckes erklärt werden.
