Über die Wirksamkeit der Handelspräparate des Hypophysenvorderlappens

Zusammenfassung

Die im Handel befindlichen Präparate des Hypophysenvorderlappens wurden daraufhin untersucht: 1. an infantilen weiblichen Ratten im Ovarium Follikelwachstum, Follikelreifung und Bildung von Corpora lutea hervorzurufen und 2. am eierlegenden Huhn die Ovulation zu hemmen. Alle untersuchten Präparate waren in Mengen bis zu 6,0 ccm pro Versuchstier unwirksam. Das Präparat «Glandularteil der Hypophyse» zeigt Spuren einer Wirkung, 1,0 ccm entspricht aber noch nicht dem sechsten Teil einer Ratteneinheit. Fast alle Präparate senken den Blutdruck der Katze, eine Wirkung, die den wirksamen wässerigen Auszügen aus frischen Hypophysenvorderlappen fehlt. Der größte Teil der Präparate war eiweißfrei.
