Summary
22 chronic alcoholics and 10 control persons were exposed to the hot chamber. The zinc concentration in serum of the alcoholics was significantly lower both before and after heat exposition than that of the controls (p < 0.025,p < 0.05). There were no significant differences of zinc levels in sweat and urine between both investigated groups.
Zusammenfassung
22 chronische Alkoholiker und 10 Kontrollpersonen wurden einer Wärmeexposition unterzogen. Bei den Alkoholikern war die Zinkkonzentration im Serum sowohl vor als auch nach der Wärmeexposition signifikant niedriger als in der Kontrollgruppe (p < 0,025,p < 0,05). Der Zinkgehalt im Schweiß und Harn war in beiden untersuchten Gruppen statistisch nicht unterschiedlich.
