Summary
The fractional intestinal calcium absorption was estimated from whole body retention data after intragastric and intraperitoneal application of47Ca. Calcium absorption was the same in partially nephrectomised and sham operated rats. The results point towards compensation by distal gut segments for well-known impaired proximal calcium absorption.
