Estradiol medicated IUDs: release and influence on menstruation pattern

Abstract

In a double blind trial of 90 women with three types of IUD (MLCu250; MLCu250+0.3 mg estradiol releasing about 1μg per day; and MLCu250+1.0 mg estradiol releasing about 3μg per day) no difference in intensity or duration of bleeding was found.

Resumé

Au cours d'un essai en double aveugle effectué sur 90 femmes portant des stérilets de trois types différents (MLCu250;MLCu250+0,3 mg d'estradiol libérant environ 1 μg/jour et MLCu250+1 mg d'estradiol libérant environ 3 μg/jour), aucune différence dans l'importance ou la durée des pertes sanguines n'a été constatée.

Resumen

En un estudio doble ciego de 90 mujeres con tres tipos de DIU (MLCu250; MLCu250+0,3 mg de estradiol liberando aproximadamente l μg por día; y MLCu250+1,0 mg de estradiol liberando aproximadamente 3 μg por día) no se encontró diferencia en intensidad o duración del sangrado.
