Es wird unter Ablehnung der Theorie von der Lipoidnatur der SpirochätenhÜlle eine Methode zur Färbung der Spriochaeta pallida empfohlen, bestehend in einer Vereinigung der Schillingschen Methode des dicken Tropfens,Fixierung nach Tilden mit Formalin-Pufferphosphatlösung und Färbung mit Viktoriablau nachMÜhlpfordt.
