The search for a self-consistent field theory for linear induction motors entails analysis of the excitation winding of the primary member. Two models for this winding, lending themselves to a relatively simple analysis with the aid of Maxwell's field equations, have been considered in a previous communication. In the present paper, the entire energy conversion process between the stator and the rotor is investigated according to these two models.
