Summary

Between 1971 and 1984 58 neonates were operated on because of bowel obstructing intestinal malformations. The most significant postoperative complications were cardiac insufficiency (7), mechanical bowel obstruction (5), sepsis (4), short bowel syndrome (3), respiratory insufficiency or pneumonia (3), anastomotic leak (2) or stenosis (1), bleeding (2), bowel infarction (1). Overall mortality: 15/58 (26%).

Zusammenfassung

Zwischen 1971–1984 wurden 58 Neugeborene wegen einer Fehlbildung operiert, die zum Verschluß des Duodenums (n = 22), Jejunums (n =19), Ileus (n =16) oder Colons geführt hatte. Im Vordergrund standen Atresien, Rotations- und Fixationsanomalien. Die häufigsten postoperativen Komplikationen waren Herzinsuffizienz und Rhythmusstörungen (7), mechanischer Ileus (5), Sepsis (4), Kurzdarm, Cholestase, Gedeihstörungen (3), pulmonale Insuffizienz, Aspiration, Pneumonie (3). Insgesamt verstarben 15 von 58 Kindern.
