Summary

The results of ventriculocisternostomies (Torkildsen's operation) performed since 1948 in the neurosurgical clinic at the University of Bonn are described. A total of 112 patients underwent operation. Of these, the first 100 patients could be followed up. The accepted criterion for operations was that the posterior fossa cisterna should be patent in cases of obstructive hydrocephalus of various origin. The complications are reviewed. Foreign body reactions to the drainage tubes were of no great significance. The value of the operation was further proven by the fact that the majority of patients with inoperable tumours survived 5 years or more.

Vengono presentati i risultati delie ventricolocisternostomie sec. In totale furono trattati 112 pazienti.
