Summary
An oesophagoplasty, or more rarely a functioning gastrostomy or reflux-protected biliary-digestive anastomosis fashioned from tubular and vascularised gastric flap, requires intimate anatomical knowledge of the area.
In addition to the laxity of its serous coverings and its relative ease of mobilisation, the stomach has a rich vascular supply and an impressive intra-parietal anastomotic network which provides an excellent basis for plastic surgery. After pointing out these various anatomical advantages, this paper reviews the different techniques of tubular gastroplasty.
