Transesophageal echocardiography after orthotopic heart transplantation

Conclusion

TEE, which was for the first time used for evaluation of transplant patients in this study, yielded important information on the morphology and function of the transplanted heart, which cannot be obtained by TTE. The TEE findings indicate the need for antiplatelet therapy in patients with SEC and provide a potential clue to the pathogenesis of the AV valve incompetence.
