Abstract
We investigate the excitation spectrum of a non-relativistic many-body system of coloured quarks in the presence of various Cooper-pair condensate fields. While the spin zeroqq colourless condensate within QCD is known to be responsible for the existence of pions, we argue non-relativistically that the spin — 1qq colourless condensate implies the existence of ϱ mesons, and the colour-tripletqq condensate implies the existence of baryons.
