Computer simulation of131I transfer from fallout to man

Abstract

A compartment model has been constructed to depict the principal routes of131I transfer from fallout to man. Thyroid accumulation and excretion have been modelled for cow and for man. A simulation is carried out of the major fallout during the fall of 1962, following tests of nuclear weapons, and the results are compared with experimental data for southern Scandinavia.
