Editor's Note. This is the sixth in the series of articles on Male and Female under the guest editorship of Samuel Southard. The first article, “Women in the Church” by William Douglas appeared in June, 1961. The second article on “Some Implications on Current Changes in Sex Role Patterns” by Ruth E. Hartley was published in November, 1961. The third article on “The Dilemma of a Woman Counselor in a Church Situation” by John W. Drakeford appeared in June, 1962. The fourth article on “Male and Female Roles in Marriage Counseling” by Aaron L. Rutledge was published in October, 1962. The fifth article on “The Church as a Matriarchy” by James B. Ashbrook appeared in September, 1963. The series will be completed this year with one or more articles on the same theme.
