Summary

The effect of vitamin E deficiency on skeletal muscle of rats have been studied with the paper electrophoresis. The applied method gave an electrophoresis pattern in which only three fractions could be detected. The myogen components seem to be decreased in the deficient state.

We believe clinically the paper electrophoresis of muscle extracts is not suitable for the distinction between different neuromuscular disorders.
