Summary
The presence of fatty acid synthetase in human leukocytes and thrombocytes is described for the first time in this paper. The method of extraction of the enzyme from the cells, its partial purification, the assay of the enzyme, and conditions and criteria of reproducibility of the test are discussed. Some information on the range of enzyme activities to be expected in blood cells of healthy individuals is given.
