Summary
Hemolytic activity of the total serum complement is investigated quantitatively in 101 patients with various skin diseases and no skin affections. The complement fraction β1C–A has been determined quantitatively as well.
A statistically significant correlation was found which seems applicable for a simplified method of routine determinations of complement for clinical purposes. The titer of the complement activity of sera stored for a longer time can be determined on the basis of the common antigenicity between β1C and β1A.
