Summary
The dependency of pancreas secretion on the bile flow was tested with 90 pancreozymin or cecekin tests and 55 secretin/pancreozymin tests. While the secretion of juice and amylase is primarily increased by secretin stimulation, the lipase and trypsin secretions prove to be strictly dependent on the amount of bile flow. Disturbances of the gallbladder function as well as the state after a cholecystectomy go together with a significant reduction of pancreas secretion. The possibility of a normalization by intraduodenal substitution of bile shows that it is only a matter of lacking stimulation and no real pancreas insufficiency.
A secretory stimulation equivalent to the hormones can be produced by dried cattle-bile. In this case a dependency on the dose is obvious. Its effect can significantly be reduced by means of atropin.
