Histogram approximation of frequency spectra with the use of moments

  • Published:
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics B Aims and scope

Abstract

Using orthogonal polynomials equations are derived to determine abscissas and coordinates of the histogram of the integral spectrum the moments of which are known as it is e.g. in crystal lattice spectra. The method leads to several relations which can be used easily for numerical evaluation.
