Langzeitwirkung von Glucagon auf die Magensekretion

Prolonged effect of glucagon on gastric secretion

Summary

18 male subjects were given 4×2 mg glucagon i.m. per day in cristalline form and 4×4 g of CaCO3 orally for 8 days. A quantitative gastric analysis was performed 12 hours after the last dose of the medication and compared with the results of a gastric analysis carried out at the beginning of the test.

Maximally stimulated H-concentration and H-secretion were significantly reduced by glucagon application. The role of glucagon as a potential therapeutic substance for the reduction of gastric secretion in man is discussed.
