Abstract

The Japan Monkey Centre issued the following official statement concerning the aerial spraying of herbicide which was carried out at the end of June on the Shimokita Peninsula. It invites all who are interested in the research of nature to understand and support its aim for the conservation of wild Japanese monkeys and the protection of nature from artificial destruction. Copies of the statement (in Japanese) have been sent to a number of inland individuals and organizations concerned.
