Summary
From 1924 until 1978 875 patients were treated. 63.4 % had haematogenous, 36.6 % posttraumatic osteomyelitis. 75.55 % male, 24.4 % female patients. The most frequent localisation was the tibia with 35.8 %, femur with 36,4 %. Multifocal osteomyelitis was seen in 21.1 % of haematogenous and 6.3 % posttraumatic forms. Bacterial population - mostly Staph. aureus, but Pseudomonas and Escherichia coli with tendency to increase. Mortality: 36 patients died of haematogenous and 4 patients of traumatic osteomyelitis. Relapses: 74.3%.

Von 1924–1978 875 Patienten, 63,4 hämatogene, 36,6% posttraumatische Osteomyelitis gehabt. Männlich 75,55%, weiblich 24,45%. Der häufigste Befall - Tibia 35,8%, Femur 36,4%, Bei hämatogener - 21,1 %, posttraumatischer Form 6,3 % multilokal aufgetreten. Keimwandel - am häufigsten Staphylococcus aureus jedoch Pseudomonas aeroginosa und Escherichia coli mit ansteigender Tendenz. Todesfälle: 36 an hämatogener und 4 Patienten wegen posttraumatischer Osteomyelitis verstorben. Rezidive -74,3
