Summary
In a 32 year old female with hypokalemic alkalosis, increased aldosterone-secretion rate, arterial hypotension and an extremely high plasmarenin concentration, norepi-nephrine induced antidiuresis, antinatriuresis, and a slight elevation of plasma-renin. After stopping the infusion, plasma renin raised markedly. The vasopressor effect of angiotensin II-amide was about 40 times less in this patient than in normal persons. The infusion of angiotensin II-amide induced a slight antidiuresis without altering the glomerular filtration rate. Plasma renin concentration decreased continuously.
