Summary
The incorporation of3H-benzene and14C alanyl labeled tryptophan into different serum proteins was investigated in the isolated perfused liver. Total body X-irradiation (24 hours after 1000 R) results in an increase in incorporation of3H tryptophan and in a decrease of incorporation of14C label. It is suggested, that less alanine and its metabolites are available after irradiation due to a diminished catabolism of tryptophan.
